KIPP Forward advisors support students as they prepare for and select the right college and career based on their interests and passions. Advisors help KIPPsters navigate the academic, social, and financial challenges of college. The result? KIPP alumni graduate from college at a dramatically higher rate than their peers.
Our whole child approach at KIPP extends beyond school walls and into the broader community we serve. Staff and students engage in community service activities and partnerships to build a better tomorrow in the City of Albany and beyond.
Service projects on campus have supported efforts in the Capital Region to provide food to those in need, as well as collect household items, clothing and toiletries to be donated to partner organizations.
An on-campus mentoring program provides opportunities for Middle School students to tutor elementary aged KIPPsters and volunteer at community events in their sister school. Big KIPPsters serve as positive role models for the younger grades, setting a positive example of future volunteerism and leadership during the Middle School years and beyond.
