About

Founded as Troy Prep Elementary School in 2011, our public schools serve Capital Region families with an instructional model that supports students’ academic and personal growth. Our teachers infuse joy into every day, creating an active engaged learning environment and preparing every student to succeed in college, career and beyond. Troy Prep Elementary joined the KIPP Public Schools network in July of 2022. Today, our school serves 320 students in grades kindergarten to fourth grade.

Our school culture at KIPP Troy Prep Elementary creates an environment that allows the whole child to grow, with teachers using classroom community-building and social-emotional learning to support academic and character development. Students are provided extended learning time for literacy and mathematics, including opportunities for small group instruction and individualized learning plans to ensure every child is able to be successful. In addition to ELA and math, our hands-on science curriculum, social studies and enrichment offerings provide a robust academic experience for every child..

At KIPP Troy Prep Elementary, we believe every child walks into our school building bearing gifts. We create a community where students feel loved and nurtured so they can be their best each and every day, and celebrate their growth. By committing to our core values and giving back to others, our students can reshape history and create the future they want for themselves and their communities. At KIPP Troy Prep, diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to achieving our mission. We believe that all students deserve to see themselves in the adults who shape their lives, and that diverse teams are strong teams.
